Tips to Avoid
the Flu:
 | Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it. |
 | Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not
available, use an alcohol-based hand rub. |
 | Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Germs spread this way.
|
 | Try to avoid close contact with sick people. |
 | If you are sick with flu–like illness, CDC recommends that you stay
home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone except to get
medical care or for other necessities. (Your fever should be gone
without the use of a fever-reducing medicine.) |
 | While sick, limit contact with others as much as possible to keep
from infecting them. |

Rooms
You
can choose a private room, semi-private room or a suite as
available. The private rooms and suites are large and have their own
bathrooms. The suites are big enough for a couple to reside in (they
are each charged a semi-private rate). The semi-private rooms are
designed to provide maximum privacy for each resident. A solid
dividing wall separates the rooms and only the bathroom is shared.
Each room in the facility has its own window and door, which gives
the resident more freedom and control over their environment.

E-mail account for
Residents
We have an e-mail address for residents at the New
Horizons Care Center. Families and friends are encouraged to
send pictures, letters or just short notes via e-mail to our
residents. Each e-mail needs to have the resident’s name in
the subject line. These e-mails are printed every morning (Monday
through Friday) and distributed during the daily mail pass. The e-mail address
is: nhccstars@yahoo.com.
This is a great way for busy families to stay in contact with
residents. And the residents enjoy receiving "mail".
